Born and raised in Japan, Mitsue arrived in her new home of Perth in 1995 where she was met with a new phenomenon: the internet. She founded M-Design in 1999 aiming to deliver multilingual web and graphic design services primarily in English and Japanese.

As well as servicing the local Japanese community’s needs including the Consulate General of Japan in Perth, Hyogo Prefectural Government Cultural Centre, and The Japanese School in Perth; her clientele extends beyond WA reaching Australia’s eastern states, USA, Europe and, of course, Japan.

Aside from proving services to M-Design’s clients, Mitsue also worked as a freelance web designer for aussiehome.com, a real estate portal founded in Perth (later acquired by Real Estate Institute of WA) and designed number of websites for real estate agencies.

In 2009 she embarked on a new venture, taking over a Perth based Japanese travel and education agency which was one of M-Design’s clients. In the following 10 years her working hours were mostly dedicated to this niche business called Shoji Australia.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Mitsue re-launched M-Design as a web & graphic design agency servicing local small businesses and communities. She shares her knowledge and expertise developed through not only working with the Internet and media industry, but as an owner and operator of a small business.
